Flights of Fancy

I sit in my garden, gazing upon a beauty that cannot gaze upon itself.
And I find sufficient purpose for my day.

Today I am thankful for winged things...

Stunning Foxglove!

It's only a tiny Garden,
  Where the commonest flowers blow,
  Where tangled vines are straying,
  and shrubs all wayward grow.
  No trim or stately hedges
  border our Garden path,
  No rare or lovely blossoms
with strange new names it hath...

  They are flower friends loyal,
  returning year by year,

  Never from summer sowing,
comes bloom that's quite so dear.

I love every little thing about summer!

The full blossoms

The potential beauty

The lacy delicate things...

Seemingly dripping with sunshine

Good companionship

Dreams of tomorrow's beauty

The occasional bit of mischief

Lovely views

The beauty of the mountain,
always above me

The full heat of the sun

Beautiful butterflies

Old fashioned roses, gay and bright

Animals always underfoot

Offerings to my winged neighbors

The glory of the sun

Pretty and pink

Anticipation

Pure energy

Reaching for the sun

Basking in its glory

My loud friend

Petaled perfection

Singing long and loud

Offerings everywhere

Moment's delight

Beauty in all stages

Beautiful contrasts

Seedheads aflutter

Greenman is watching

Home for a rest

Soaking in the heat of the day

Enjoying the little things

As if with new eyes

Enjoying the scents of summer

Rapt with attention

Having fun

Watching the birds feed

Animals at play

Watching the birdies

And all of the colors that summer brings
